With a keen interest in sport from a young age, Barry O’ Connor participated in various martial arts in his teens. However, he was soon drawn to commit himself completely to Taekwon-Do.
What initially struck him in the classes was the respect and camaraderie between the students themselves, and the students and instructor.
Within a very short period of time, the physical benefits were also obvious; increased fitness and flexibility, a new-found confidence in self-defence techniques and an overall feeling of well-being.
His instructors became his role models, and his comrades in the class, friends for life.
Barry O’ Connor soon realised that he too wanted to bring the benefits of Taekwon-Do to others.
He received his 2nd Degree in 2012 and is currently training for his 3rd Degree.
He is affiliated with the Irish Taekwon-Do Association (ITA).
He is Garda vetted, first aid trained, and a level 1 coach with IMAC. He is a qualified Kubz Instructor under Master Mark Hutton’s programme.
He has completed courses in Child Protection.
Barry is also a certified Kettlebell Instructor.
Alongside Barry, Assistant Kubz Instructor, Susan Mills, also teaches the Kubz classes.
She is Garda vetted, first aid trained and a qualified Kubz Instructor.
